In June 2023, I appeared on CBC Radio’s Ideas to discuss Bobby Kenuajuak’s My Village in Nunavik (1999), a remarkable film about his home community of Puvirnituq, Nunavik. Kenuajuak made the film through the National Film Board’s Programme cinéastes autochtones and sought to challenge southern representations of Inuit communities as isolated and deprived.
The program was the final episode of Another Country: Change and Resilience in Nunavik, a four-part Ideas series examining cultural and social change in Nunavik.
